Rank Genius GSC Intelligence
Turn Google Search Console data into actionable intelligence — keyword opportunities, content gaps, traffic diagnostics, and AI strategic recommendations, all in one dashboard.
Before you start
Rank Genius is SEO Rank Genius’s GSC-powered intelligence dashboard. It analyzes your search performance, surfaces keyword and content opportunities, and generates AI executive summaries and strategic recommendations.
You’ll need:
- Google Search Console connected — required for all Rank Genius data
- Google Analytics 4 connected — optional, but unlocks Traffic Doctor and the Content Value Matrix
- Enough published content for GSC to report meaningful query data (typically a few weeks of impressions)

Open Rank Genius
From your WordPress dashboard:
SEO Rank Genius → Tools & Analytics → Rank Genius
The tab has two sub-views at the top:
If GSC is not connected, Rank Genius shows a connect prompt. Go to Tools & Analytics → Search Console, sign in with Google, and approve access for your property.
Fetch your GSC data
On first visit (or after cache expiry), Rank Genius shows a setup screen instead of the full dashboard.
Click Fetch Data Now
Pulls your last 90 days of Search Console performance data (queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions). Processing takes about 5–10 seconds.
Wait for the dashboard to load
Once complete, the tab refreshes automatically and shows KPIs, charts, and opportunity cards. If GSC data was already cached, the screen may say Build Report and auto-start.
Dashboard overview
When data is loaded, the Dashboard sub-tab opens with these core sections:
Header controls
- 30 Days / 90 Days — switch your analysis window (saved per user)
- Export PDF — download a report snapshot including the AI summary
- Generate AI Insights — run cloud AI to produce the executive summary and Strategic Recommendations cards
Executive summary
The gradient header shows an AI-written overview of your search performance for the selected range, plus summary KPIs (total keywords analyzed, top-10 count, and related metrics).
Key Performance Indicators
Each KPI card includes a trend arrow comparing the current period to the previous one.
Charts & keyword tables
- Keyword Position Distribution — where your keywords rank across Google result pages
- Clicks vs. Impressions — Top Keywords — performance of your highest-traffic queries
- Top Opportunity Keywords — impression and click charts for striking-distance keywords
- Keyword Category Breakdown — visibility grouped by content theme
- Top Performing Keywords table — searchable, sortable list with filters for Top 10 and positions 11–20
Intelligence cards
Below the KPI section, Rank Genius shows specialized intelligence modules:
Cards with no data yet show a Scan Now or Generate Now button. Traffic Doctor and Content Value Matrix show a connect prompt until GA4 is linked under Tools & Analytics → Google Analytics.
Opportunity sections
Actionable recommendation cards appear further down the dashboard:
High-Opportunity Keywords (Quick Wins)
Keywords already ranking near page 1 with strong search volume. Small ranking improvements can unlock significant traffic. Each card has a Mark as Done button.
Content Gaps
Queries where Google shows impressions for your site but you have no dedicated page. The table shows keyword, intent, impressions, position, and clicks. Click Open in SEO Advisor → to jump straight into draft creation for that opportunity.
Page-Level SEO Audit
Expandable cards for your top-performing pages with on-page issues (CTR problems, title tag gaps, etc.). Some issues include an AI Rewrite button for meta/title improvements.
Local SEO + Backlinks
Near-page-1 URLs that would benefit most from targeted backlinks, with difficulty ratings and actionable outreach tips.
Strategic Recommendations
AI-generated priority actions with HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW impact tags. Appear after you click Generate AI Insights. Some cards link directly to other plugin tabs.
AI insights & History
Generate AI Insights
Click Generate AI Insights in the dashboard header to run cloud AI analysis. This populates:
- The executive summary paragraph at the top
- The Strategic Recommendations grid at the bottom
Results are cached locally. Switching between 30-day and 90-day ranges clears the AI cache and may require regenerating insights for the new window.
Mark as Done
Opportunity cards (Quick Wins, Content Gaps, Backlink Strategy) include Mark as Done buttons. Completed items are hidden from the dashboard and logged in History. You can revert actions from the History tab.
History tab
Switch to the History sub-tab to see every completed or reverted recommendation. The summary shows completion rate, total actions, and which dashboard cards contributed. Click Refresh to pull the latest log from SEO Rank Genius cloud.
Export PDF
Use Export PDF in the header to download a shareable report including your AI executive summary.
SEO Advisor integration
Rank Genius opportunities feed directly into SEO Advisor for content creation:
From Content Gaps
Click Open in SEO Advisor → on any content gap row. SEO Advisor opens with that opportunity pre-selected.
From SEO Advisor directly
Go to Tools & Analytics → SEO Advisor and click the Rank Genius sub-tab. This shows a unified queue of content gaps, strategic recommendations, quick wins, and trend-radar create-new items.
Create AI drafts
Select an opportunity and generate an AI draft (outline, meta, or full content). Drafts stay separate from published content until you apply them. Enable Auto-mark Rank Genius opportunities done after a successful draft in SEO Advisor’s Brand Voice settings if you want completed items tracked automatically.
Troubleshooting
Upgrade screen instead of dashboard
Rank Genius requires Pro. Activate your license under SEO Rank Genius → Account or upgrade from the in-plugin pricing page.
“Connect Google Search Console” prompt
Connect GSC under Tools & Analytics → Search Console. Use the same Google account that verified your property. Confirm the property URL matches your WordPress site address (www vs non-www).
Fetch fails or times out
Click Retry on the setup screen. Check that your host allows outbound HTTPS to Google APIs. Large properties may take longer — wait 30 seconds before retrying.
Dashboard empty after fetch
New GSC properties need a few weeks of data before keywords appear. Confirm your site has indexed pages and GSC shows queries in the native Search Console UI.
Traffic Doctor / Content Matrix show “Connect GA4”
These modules require Google Analytics 4 in addition to GSC. Connect under Tools & Analytics → Google Analytics, then return to Rank Genius.
AI summary says “Generating…” forever
Click Generate AI Insights manually. Confirm your cloud account is linked and has remaining credits. Switching the 30/90-day range clears cached AI output — regenerate after changing ranges.
Strategic Recommendations empty
Recommendations only appear after running Generate AI Insights. They are cached separately from the GSC fetch — the initial data pull does not auto-generate AI cards.
