Post Editor SEO Metabox: Complete Guide
Everything in the Link Analysis metabox β Link Overview, Keywords, SEO Check scoring, Schema, and LLM Mode β plus a practical daily workflow for editors.
Before you start
Every post and page in WordPress gets a single metabox: SEO Rank Genius β Link Analysis. It replaces scattered SEO sidebars with one tabbed panel for links, keywords, on-page scoring, schema, and AI visibility β without leaving the editor.
You need permission to edit the post (Editor or Administrator). Some tabs (Schema, LLM Mode, AI Authority) may show a lock icon on free plans β upgrade to unlock.
Open the Link Analysis metabox
Edit any post or page from Posts β All Posts or Pages β All Pages. Scroll below the content editor until you see:
SEO Rank Genius β Link Analysis
If the metabox is collapsed, click its title bar to expand. Use Screen Options (top-right of the edit screen) to show or hide the metabox if itβs missing.
Link Overview tab
The default tab when you open the metabox. It merges inbound links, outbound links, and link suggestions in one view.
- Inbound β other posts that link here, with source title and anchor text. An orphan warning appears if nothing links to this page.
- Outbound β internal and external links in your content, with anchor text.
- Link suggestions β click Scan for Links to get AI-powered internal link ideas based on your content and site structure.

SEO Check tab
The SEO Check tab runs a real-time 5-pillar analysis as you edit. The layout is two columns: SERP preview and title/description fields on the left, overall score ring and pillar breakdown on the right.
Five pillars feed the main score:
Click any issue in the checklist to jump to the relevant field. Scores refresh when you update the post or click Re-analyze.
Keywords tab
Set the terms SEO Rank Genius uses for scoring, cannibalization checks, and Rank Genius intelligence.
- Primary Keyword β your main target phrase for this page.
- Secondary Keywords β supporting terms (comma-separated or chip input).
- Keywords from SEO Plugins β imported focus keywords if you migrated from Yoast, Rank Math, etc.
- Posts with Similar Keywords β cannibalization warnings when another page targets the same term.
- TF-IDF Keywords β suggested terms based on top-ranking content for your topic.
Use AI Extract to suggest primary and secondary keywords from your draft, then Save Keywords. Run Re-analyze Keywords after major content changes.
Schema & LLM Mode tabs
Schema β generate, edit, and validate JSON-LD for this post. Pick a schema type (Article, FAQ, HowTo, etc.), review auto-detected fields, and output structured data in the page head. See our Neural Schema guide for full details.
LLM Mode β optimize how AI crawlers and answer engines read your page. Toggle AI-specific JSON-LD, review entity markup, and align content with llms.txt settings from Indexing & Sitemaps.
Daily workflow
- Draft content in the editor as usual.
- Open Keywords β set or AI-extract your primary keyword.
- Switch to SEO Check β fix title length, meta description, and pillar issues until the score is green.
- Review Link Overview β add suggested internal links before publishing.
- Confirm Schema type and required fields.
- Publish or update β scores and links refresh on save.

SEO Check score stuck at 0
Save the post as a draft first β the checker needs a post ID. Click Re-analyze after saving.
Schema tab shows a lock
Neural Schema requires a paid plan. Visit SEO Rank Genius β Pricing to upgrade.
Keywords not affecting score
Click Save Keywords, then re-run SEO Check. Imported plugin keywords may need a manual primary keyword set.
