Link Management Bulk Scans & Content Tables

Before you start

Link Management is the command center for internal linking. You assign focus keywords to each post or page, scan to find where those keywords appear elsewhere, then insert links manually or in bulk. Auto Link can automate future mentions.

Confirm Settings → General → Scannable Post Types includes the content types you plan to work with.

Open Link Management

Navigate to:

The header shows quick tips: add focus keywords, use Bulk Scan, and enable Auto Link. Three tabs appear — Posts, Pages, and Reports — with item counts on each tab.

Posts & Pages tabs

Each tab shows a searchable content table for that post type. Click a post title to open the editor (Block editor or page builder). The table columns are:

• ID — WordPress post ID (useful for exclusions in Settings).
• Post Title — clickable edit link.
• Focus Keywords — editable keyword field(s).
• Actions — Scan button and Auto toggle.

Use the filter box to search by title or keyword. Hidden rows load as you scroll for large sites.

Focus keywords

Enter the primary phrase you want other content to link to this post. Use short, natural keywords — not full titles. Click + to add secondary keywords on the same row.

Keywords save automatically when you tab out of the field. Scan and bulk insert both rely on these values — empty keywords skip the row.

Bulk scan

The bulk action bar at the top of each tab includes:

• Bulk Auto Link — toggle Auto Link for all rows that have keywords.
• Bulk Scan All Posts / Bulk Scan All Pages — batch scan every published item.
• Insert All Links — appears after a bulk scan completes; inserts every approved opportunity (use with care).

After a row-level Scan, results expand in a full-width panel below the row showing keyword matches, select-all checkboxes, and before/after previews. Choose targets and click insert — or use bulk insert from the top bar after a site-wide scan.

Auto Link toggle

The Auto toggle on each row enables automatic linking: when new or updated content mentions this post's focus keyword, SEO Rank Genius inserts a link back without a manual scan.

Bulk Auto Link in the top bar toggles Auto for every row that has a keyword set. Combine with conservative global limits in Settings → General for safe automation.

Reports tab

Reports logs every link insert, removal, and bulk undo from Link Management. Filter by source (bulk insert, Auto Link, manual) and date. If the tab shows zero entries, run your first scan and insert from the Posts or Pages tab.

Troubleshooting

Scan finds zero matches

Verify the focus keyword appears in published body content on other posts — not just titles or meta. Check Scannable Post Types and Excluded IDs in Settings → General.

Insert reported success but no link on front end

Page builders store content in meta fields. Clear cache and view logged out. Re-scan — verification reads raw builder storage, not rendered HTML.

Bulk scan stalls or times out

Large sites scan in batches automatically. Wait for the progress bar. Increase PHP max execution time on your host if scans consistently fail mid-way.

Auto Link creates too many links

Lower Max Links Per Post/Page in Settings → General. Disable Bulk Auto Link and enable Auto only on high-priority pillar pages.
