Before you start

Search Appearance controls how SEO Rank Genius outputs titles, meta descriptions, social tags, and Knowledge Graph data across your entire site. Per-post overrides in the editor still win β€” these settings are the defaults.

You need Administrator access. Open:

SEO Rank Genius β†’ Indexing & Sitemaps β†’ Search Appearance

Other SEO plugins active? If Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, or AIOSEO is still active, LinkGenius uses smart conflict detection β€” it only outputs tags for features the other plugin isn’t handling. Override per feature in Feature Control below.

Open Search Appearance

From the WordPress dashboard, go to SEO Rank Genius β†’ Indexing & Sitemaps and click the Search Appearance tab in the sub-navigation. The page toolbar shows the tab title and a Save Settings button β€” always click Save after making changes.

Feature Control

Seven toggles decide which SEO tags LinkGenius outputs. Turning a feature off prevents duplicate tags when another plugin already handles it β€” it does not disable the other plugin.

Title & Description Templates

Each public post type gets default SEO title and meta description patterns using variables like %%title%%, %%sep%%, and %%sitename%%. Expand a post type row to edit templates, set robots defaults (No Index / No Follow), and see a live Google Preview.

Special pages (Homepage, Author Archives, Search Results, 404) have their own collapsible rows. Homepage templates are marked Priority β€” set these carefully.

Social Sharing Defaults

Fallback Open Graph and Twitter settings when a post has no featured image or custom social meta:

  • Default OG / Share Image β€” recommended 1200Γ—630px, under 1MB.
  • Twitter Card Type β€” Summary with Large Image (best CTR) or Summary.
  • Facebook App ID (optional) β€” enables Facebook Insights.
  • Twitter / X @username β€” added as twitter:site on every page.

Knowledge Graph

Organization or Person schema for Google’s Knowledge Panel. Set entity type, name, logo URL, website URL, and official social/profile URLs. Product SEO and WooCommerce pages reference these global values when no product-level override exists.

Save & troubleshooting

Click Save Settings after any change. A success toast confirms the save via AJAX β€” no full page reload needed.

Titles look wrong on the front end

Check Feature Control β€” Title Tags must be ON. If another SEO plugin is active, either disable its title output or turn off conflicting features here.

Google Preview doesn’t match live SERPs

The preview is approximate. Google may rewrite titles and descriptions. Use the post editor SEO Check tab for per-page tuning.

Save button does nothing

Check browser console for JS errors, confirm you’re an Administrator, and disable ad blockers that might block admin AJAX.
