| AI-Enhanced | Images where the plugin auto-generated descriptive ALT text using AI. |
| Missing ALT | Images across your content that have no ALT attribute — bad for accessibility and SEO. |

| ALT Coverage | Percentage of images that have ALT text (manual + AI-generated). |
AI Alt Text Generator
The AI Alt Text Generator analyzes your images and writes descriptive, SEO-friendly ALT text automatically. This uses your configured AI provider (or plugin credits).
How It Works
- The plugin identifies images with empty or missing ALT attributes.
- Each image is sent to the AI provider for visual analysis.
- The AI generates a concise, descriptive ALT text based on the image content.
- ALT text is saved to the WordPress media library.
Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Auto-generate on Upload | Automatically generate ALT text when new images are uploaded to the media library. |
| Overwrite Existing | Replace existing ALT text with AI-generated versions. Off by default to preserve manual entries. |
| Batch Generate | Process all images with missing ALT text in one batch. Uses AI credits. |
Credit usage: Each AI alt text generation consumes 1 credit. A batch of 50 images = 50 credits. Monitor your balance in Account → Credits.
Featured Images
Posts without featured images perform poorly on social media and in search results. The plugin tracks which published posts are missing featured images and can show admin notices as reminders.
Tip: Click the “Missing Featured Images” KPI to jump directly to a filtered list of posts that need attention.
Image Indexing
Control how images are handled in your sitemap:
- Include images in XML sitemap — Adds
<image:image>entries to help Google discover images for Image Search. - Image title from ALT text — Uses the ALT attribute as the image title in sitemap entries.
Troubleshooting
AI Alt Text Not Generating
- Ensure you have AI credits available or an AI provider configured in AI Settings.
- Check that the image is a standard format (JPEG, PNG, WebP) — SVGs and ICOs are skipped.
- Large images may timeout. Try reducing image dimensions before upload.
ALT Coverage Not Improving
- Images added via page builders or custom fields may not be detected. The plugin scans post content and the media library.
- Run a batch generation to catch all missing ALT text at once.
