What is AI visibility?
AI visibility is how often, and how well, AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini mention, recommend and link to your brand when someone asks a question you should be the answer to. It is the AI era version of ranking on page one.
How is the score calculated?
Each answer earns 40 points if your brand is mentioned, 30 if the answer links to your site, and up to 30 for how early you are recommended. A negative answer loses 15 points. The score is the average across the three answers, so nothing is hidden.
Is this the same answer a person gets in the ChatGPT app?
It is very close. The checker uses the official API with live web search, which is how the app finds current information. Wording varies from one conversation to the next, so treat the result as a snapshot, and track it over time for the trend.
Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitors and not me?
AI assistants repeat what trusted sources say. If comparison pages, review sites and directories name your competitors and not you, so will the AI. The report lists exactly which sites it used, which is where to get listed or reviewed first.
